IJ is definitely a peculiar book, but there's a lot to be gained by immersing yourself in it wholeheartedly. I caution against doing lots of research on the web about what other people say about IJ -- at least 95% of what I've seen is just garbage, and I would MUCH rather have you come to your own (intelligent) conclusions than read someone else's unintelligent ones. Being bewildered is half the fun, so don't sneak peeks!
